The school operates an American bi-lingual curriculum that sets a level balance to offer the best of Western teaching practices and technologies to prepare students for a global community as well as promoting the very fabric and traditions of the Kuwaiti heritage and culture. Skills and experience of working within a multilingual and multicultural teaching environment is desirable.
The school caters for mostly Kuwaiti nationals and other Arab expatriates of which there are almost 2000; indeed a large school that occupies a generous, well resourced and green campus located beneath the skyline of Kuwait City. In addition to the standard elementary, middle and high school departments the school integrates those with special needs who require differentiation in the way they learn alongside regular classes; as well as paving their way for students to graduate with an American High School Diploma, the school, through its Learning Support Units and Resource Inclusion Programs assist those with a learning difficulty to acheive the same goal; 16.6% of the schools population have been diagnosed with a teaching differentiation need. Teachers that want to work in the special needs department must present relevant certification to gain Ministry approval for a work permit.
Salary is in the range of KD655-950 (US$2252- 3266) tax free per month and is part of an employment package that includes single occupany furnished accommodation, medical insurance and annual flights. This is a school that suits applications from single teachers or married teaching couples; dependent children will not fit into the school.
