Job Description
Position:
Primary Year 2 Classroom Teacher
Required: September 2012
Two year experienced teachers are needed for an established British curriculum school located on the outskirts of Cairo. For all Primary positions it is essential to have experience of the English and Wales National Curriculum. Offering excellent facilties, a reputable teaching environment, professional development, a cultural experience, an annual base salary of GBP17200 (plus GBP160 for each of experience until 5 years then GBP120 until 10) and an employment package of shared accommodation (cheap supplement to go single), annual flights and medical insurance, this ticks all the boxes for teachers looking for a professional adventure in and out of the classroom.
Although this is a family friendly school only teaching couples with up to two children will receive full benefits; if only one parent is a teacher then benefits only extend to 50%. There are no visa restrictions on age which is a unique selling point for the school. Salaries may not appear competitive but with a very low cost of living and one of the most exciting historical, archeological and diving adventures on your doorstop you would have to think twice about turning away from this unique opportunity. It's not just the Pyramids and the immense wealth of awe-inspiring temples and monuments left by pharaohs, but also the legacy of the Greeks and Romans, the churches and monasteries of the early Christians, and the overwhelming profusion of art and architecture accumulated from centuries of successive Islamic dynasties.
