Job Description
Position: Secondary Geography up to GCE A Level Teacher
Start Date: September 2012
Located on the eastern coast of the United Arab Emirates nestled between the rugged Hajar Mountains and the sparkling azure waters of the Arabian Gulf, a British curriculum international school is seeking secondary British teachers with UK GCSE experience. A good solid and consistent teaching background needs to be complemented by an attitude that reflects resilience, adaptability, creativity and independence. Teachers need to be able to apply a modern collaborative approach to a differentiated delivery in what is essentially an ESL environment. Full emersion into school life is expected with includes a varied extra-curricular program. Applicants need to be mindful of cultural sensitivity in an area that is more local and isolated and adjust their social and professional behaviour accordingly both in and out of the school.
The successful applicant will be in sole charge of the Geography GCE A Level programme.
The school is an established member of the Briitsh Schools of the Middle East offering the National Curriculum of England and Wales to 650 students, 70% of whom are local children. This is not to be confused with a typical British expatriate school but there are British children amongst the student body. The school boasts rich facilities within a green, pleasant and expansive campus. Strong management, a close and supportive teaching community and an excellent programme of professional development are guaranteed.
Salary is tax free and is quoted per month up to AED14800 (GBP2543 ). Accommodation is provided free of charge; it is single occupancy (but sometimes shared depending on the situation) and furnished. Reasonable utility bills are paid along with local medical insurance. Annual flights and a AED1000 settling in allowance complete the employment package.
Fujairah is a more isolated emirate located on the east coast and is best suited for those who are happy with a book and a quiet beach. Although Dubai is only 1.5 hours away by car this is not a place for avid shoppers and vibrant nightlifers (unless you can wait until the weekend). There are western amenities such as supermarkets and a limited number of fast food outlets. There is a small string of exclusive hotels that offers membership for sports, beach and water activities. The east coast offers superior fishing and diving and the mountains cater for the terrestrial adventurer. (3 / S, TC / 57, UK)
Interviews will be held in London between 1st and 5th March 2012, please contact your recruiter for further details.

Region Overview
Fujairah, a haven of peace and tranquility, is the perfect retreat for those seeking a relaxed and cultural way of life away from the stress of a city existence. A refreshing change from the construction and traffic clogged communities of Dubai; Fujairah offers an opportunity to appreciate the Middle East traditions and landscapes without the hustle and bustle. The waters beckon the sea farers and the mountains beckon the adventurous, but this is not a place for addictive shoppers and clubbers. If you like barbecues, hiking, diving, camping, rea
