Maidstone? Have you heard of us? Let us tell you why Kent is the place to be for September 2012.
We are a large working town that has close links to London - an hour to London Victoria for Gatwick links and London Charing Cross for the heart of theatre land and Westminster.
In an hour you are in Dover and the biggest port so a lot of Industry is based here and growing all the time. Enjoy a pleasant ferry trip across the Channel and be in Calais sampling wine within two hours. A large and lively town for shopping, with well known department stores and many unique boutiques for the style setters! At night, Maidstone is alive with bars, clubs, comedy clubs and a variety of well known restaurants!
We are close to an area called Medway which is an historic dockyard with castles and a cathedral and good night life! History is in abundance.
Just half an hour away by car and we are in Canterbury which is the historic city of Kent - a lot of culture and choirs, concerts and theatre. A beautiful cathedral, famous haunts and festivals of music and the arts mean this is the place for all culture vultures. Half an hour further and we are on the South East coast of England with Whitstable (famous for Oysters and Art), Dickens home at Broadstairs and the Dover and Folkestone harbours with their ferries to France and a still booming fishing business.
Down the motorway for twenty minutes or on the train and we are in Ashford, home of the Eurostar. Within two hours you will be in Paris sipping wine under the Eiffel Tower!
South of Maidstone is what we call the Garden of England - towns like Cranbrook, Staplehurst, Sissinghurst and Tunbridge Wells all very beautiful and historical - lovely countryside to drive round. Lots of sightseeing, vineyards, quaint houses, pubs and rolling green fields.
House rental and buying is fairly good as we are out of London and as you can see there are excellent links where we are.
In total there are about 900 schools in all of Kent so the opportunities are endless! Come and join us.
