Teach in the United Kingdom

Select Education is the largest education staffing agency in the UK providing temporary and permanent staff to thousands of primary, secondary, further education (ages 16-18) schools and nurseries each day. Teachers wishing to combine teaching and traveling enjoy the flexibility that temporary assignments (known as "supply teaching") can offer. If you are a UK teacher currently working abroad but wishing to find work immediately upon your return to the UK, or a teacher from abroad wishing to find work in the UK, our team can provide invaluable help and support before you arrive. Working in the UK requires both a Right to Work and Qualifications to Teach.

Right to Work

Supply teaching requires a valid "Right to Work" which can include a Working Holiday Visa, Spousal Visa, Student Visa, Ancestry Visa, European Union citizenship or a Bunac visa from the US. If you do not have a Right to Work, you will require a Work Permit, however we have very limited opportunities for teachers requiring work permits who are not currently in the UK. Find out more from these links: www.workingintheuk.gov.uk and www.bunac.org

Teacher Qualifications

If you are a trained primary or secondary teacher from your home country, there is a good chance that you can work as an overseas trained teacher in the UK for a limited time. If you seek work as a nursery worker or teaching assistant, you must be fluent in English and have experience working with children in the appropriate age groups.
