Head of Performing Arts
Required: August 2020
Location: Shanghai, China
Region: Far East and South East Asia

Experience: 5+ years
Sponsorship: Single teachers, teaching couples (if there is more than one post), married teachers with or without dependents
Salary: Excellent, teaching salaries are up to 42K per annum and based on experience plus benefits
Contract: 2 years renewable

Role and Requirements:

The role is Head of Performing Arts and includes the oversight of the academic and co-curricular music and drama programmes. The schools performing arts graduates frequently attend high caliber music and performing arts colleges and university programmes around the world. The department is well known within the wider school group as having the strongest secondary Performing Arts programme.

* A minimum of 5 years of experience, with previous Head of Department experience
* While the Performing Arts team does include drama teachers, the Head of Performing Arts that the school are looking for needs to come from a music background.
* The successful candidate must have current IBDP music teaching experience with IGCSE music experience preferred but not essential.
* The candidate will need extensive experience organising high quality music concerts and have a strong background working with instrumental groups, choirs and, preferably, orchestras.
* Ability to work well within a variety of cultures.
* Adaptable and flexible and have a positive approach to life


* Teaching salaries are up to £42,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience
