School overview: Part of a large school group with over 100 campuses in 12 different countries, this new campus opened in 2018 with the capacity for 1000 students from KG - 18. The pre-school follows the school's own Inquire-Think-Learn programme. The primary programme follows the Key Stages (UK Curriculum) for English and is inspired by Singapore MOE Mathematics, Science and Humanities. Primary and Secondary offer the highly successful International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme and the IGCSE qualification. Children are at the school are encouraged to be independent thinkers and take responsibility of their learning. The curriculum aims to develop 21st century skills and develop successful and happy individuals who are compassionate, responsible and active global citizens.

Job overview: Reporting to the Principal, the Assistant Principal (Secondary school) will be responsible in assisting the Principal to lead the team in the execution of professional duties and responsibilities to meet the following

  • Develop the schools strategic and operational plans and budgets
  • Overseeing the quality, balance and relevance of the academic, pastoral and after- school activities provided for the students at the school.
  • Formulate the overall direction and objectives of the secondary school and ensure that it is aligned with the ethos and curriculum of the rest of the school.
  • Work collaboratively with the senior leadership team to monitor overall school operations.
  • Ensure that processes are in place to monitor the quality of the teaching delivered by the teaching staff.
  • Ensure that professional development is planned for all teaching and non- teaching staff.
  • Manage the selection of teaching and non-teaching staff
  • Monitor and review teaching and learning standards
  • Maintain a system of teacher performance appraisal
  • Manage budget, resources and facilities of the school
  • Manage timetabling of teaching staff including planning for relief teachers.
  • Maintain good relationships with teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Maintain good relationships with parents and facilitate appropriate contact between staff and parents
  • Undertake an active role in the strategic and operational development of the school and increase in school enrolments
  • Interview parents of prospective students when possible, explaining the curriculum and the ethos of the school
  • Work with licensing and accreditation authorities to ensure that the school meets the required Standards
  • Plan, deliver and assess the curriculum for IMYC, IGCSE and A Levels for grades 6-12.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team in supporting learning and teaching.


  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Education from a recognised University with at least 5 years of direct work experience in a school that offers IGCSE and A Levels. Experience in international schools and experience in Secondary is preferred.
  • Prior experience of at least 2 years in a leadership role with a secondary school
  • Proven record of success in an Administrative or Curriculum Leadership role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT skills and growth mindset
  • Team player and lifelong learner
  • Ability to build community through positive interactions with parents
  • Enjoyment of and proven ability in communicating respectfully with young people

Location Overview: Mixing together a mass of different cultures, cuisines and architectural styles, Singapore is studded with vast showpiece constructions to complement its colonial-era hotels and buildings. Cutting-edge tourist developments continue to spring up. Shopping avenues and underground malls throb with life, as do the food courts, the riverside bars and the temple-dotted outlying neighbourhoods. Package: Salary range between $8000 to $10,000 Singapore dollar, monthly (inclusive of all allowance).Two Year Contract
