Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi
Set in a stunning green campus, Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi is a purpose-built international school with exceptional facilities. The college is proud to serve a diverse community, which reflects its cosmopolitan Asian setting in Shanghai. The language of instruction is English although the majority of students are second language learners. The College opened in 2016 and is growing year on year both in terms of age of students and enrolment. Students follow an enhanced UK Curriculum leading to IGCSEs followed by the IB Diploma.
The school emphasises the development of the whole child. Participation in sports and the arts, alongside a dedication to community service are an integral part of education. The campus boasts world-class facilities, including an 8-lane, 50 metre Olympic standard swimming pool, a 540 seat theatre, a 3-court gym, a fitness studio, a dance studio, a full-size outdoor football/rugby pitch, a video production suite with green room and two black box theatres.

Role:
The Head of Academic Music is a member of the Senior School's Middle Leadership Group and provides important support to the Senior School Leadership Team. You should be an adaptable and innovative leader, who consults on and establishes a professional direction for their responsibility areas; viewed as a genuine ambassador for their subject and the School.
School Requirements
- 3+ years of post-qualification experience (Ideally with previous departmental responsibility)
- Qualified in Music
- Able to teach Piano
- Experience of Music teaching pathways and schemes of work
- You should be an exceptional teacher, passionate about inspiring students to achieve their personal best.
- Relevant UK curriculum experience is desirable for Primary roles; IB experience is preferred for all Secondary roles with IGCSE experience a bonus.
- Prior international teaching experience is desirable.
- You will be excited about working in a dynamic, diverse community spanning many cultures and languages.
- You will be an educator that keeps abreast of academic research and you will have firm beliefs in the need to adjust your teaching to accommodate varying learning styles.
- You believe in embracing opportunities, being open-minded, and continuously reflecting, learning, and growing in your profession
- You will be a teacher who puts the child at the heart of everything that you do.
- The school are looking for staff who offer co-curricular activities, attend school productions to watch their students and communicate with parents proactively all because they feel that this all-round, child-centred, committed approach is at the heart of successful schooling.
