job description

Lower Secondary Science Teacher - Oman - August 2024

Start Date: August 2024
Region: Middle East
School Curriculum: UK
Minimum Experience: 2 years

The School

This independent educational LLC, is fully owned by the Oman Development Foundation (ODF). It was founded in 2002 in a small facility in the OLNG compound to provide an education to the young children of locals and expatriates working for OLNG. At this location, the School grew from just fifty to over seven hundred children and in time provided an education for girls and boys from the ages of three to seventeen. In the last few years, it became clear the School required a new, modern facility to take it to the next level. The school opened in its new home external to the OLNG compound in September 2018.

Living and Working in Oman

It has beautiful scenery, wonderful beaches, a very rich culture, and a sunny climate that enables a wide range of outdoor activities to be pursued throughout the year. Sur is the second wealthiest city in Oman and it has a population of around 120,000 inhabitants. The old town and neighborhood of Al-Ayjah are a delight due to its magnificent coastal panoramas. Sur also serves as a convenient base for beauty spots around Tiwi and the turtle reserve at Ras Al Jinz. It is approximately 180kms SE of the capital city, Muscat, and is an easy drive on a separated dual carriage expressway.
