The School
This international pre-school opened in 2010 for children from age 15 months and is expanding into Primary this year. Located next to Tokyo Mid-Town, amongst high-end residences and shopping malls. The school has large classrooms, a library, indoor playroom and parents meeting room. The classrooms all benefit from large windows allowing for maximum natural light. Students have access to a large public park which makes outdoor learning experiences an integral part of the children's curriculum. On the rooftop, children have started a small garden farm growing fruits and vegetables for the class cooking activities
School Requirements
This teaching position is specifically for the Grade 1 (turning 7) classroom running the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and it is an extension of the current Preschool program, which takes inspiration from the Reggio Emilia Approach. The school will grow this Elementary program, Grade 1 to Grade 5, gradually increasing each grade year by year. An interdisciplinary curriculum blends academics with hands-on learning, centred around observation in and participation with our community.
- Teachers must be fully qualified with at least 3 years of experience post qualification
- They are seeking passionate and dedicated teachers who can make a difference in children's learning.
- Experience in outdoor learning and expedition is highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of inquiry based learning is required.
