BASIS Bilingual School, Shenzhen
BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen is the group's first bilingual school in China. It opened in September 2020 in Shenzhen's Futian District for prekindergarten to 5th grade students; the campus expanded in 2021 to add middle school grades; and it will eventually offer courses through 12th grade.
With state-of-the-art classrooms, multi-activity space, and office facilities, the campus has added a gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, 200-metre track and soccer field, Apple computer lab, theatre, and additional classrooms.
BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen combines the core of the BASIS School Curriculum with much of the language, history, culture, and values of the traditional Chinese curriculum. A multi-national team of educators works alongside each other to build an environment where students and faculty thrive.
Living and Working in Shenzhen
Located in the expat-friendly suburb of Shekou, there are numerous Western restaurants, grocery stores, IMAX movie theatres with current releases in English, and shopping opportunities close to the school. Shenzhen itself is a wonderful planned city filled with plants and shrubbery on the coast in the warmer southern climate of China. Additionally, the area has easy access by car or ferry to Hong Kong and other Chinese cities, such as Macao, Zhuhai, and Guangzhou.
Requirements
- Fully qualified with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
- Previous experience within an EAL setting
- Demonstrate strong communication skills in teaching ideas, texts, and concepts with precision and confidence.
- Open to new ideas in teaching.
- Knowledgeable, passionate, and believe in transforming education.
- Able to motivate students to reach their highest potential while also elevating own skills through peer collaboration and a culture where learning is of the utmost importance.
- Being a brand new school, flexibility is important, as are strong relationship building skills and the ability to build a strong school community.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary from approx. $55-65k USD per annum (360 - 420k RMB), more for leadership roles
