Secondary Chemistry Teacher

Location: Guernsey

Salary: Per local scale: Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale- £37,680 - £53,857 / £56,847 - £60,430 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: May 6th and interviews w/c 20th May

School Vision:

The State of Guernsey operates a Secondary school partnership which will be made up of three 11-16 schools and one purpose built Sixth form centre and led by a unified executive leadership team. Vacancies exist across the partnership and applicants will be allocated to a school during the application process.

Role:

The successful candidates will be passionate about supporting and raising students' individual achievements with innovative ideas to build on existing good practice, alongside being able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning. They will be part of a team who identify, support and enable personalised opportunities for students and deliver the Bailiwick Curriculum including a range of international and UK qualifications. We expect our staff to make a full contribution to the ethos, identity and life of their school, offering a commitment to the broad range of enrichment activities that are available. Those appointed will be committed to working in a school that is part of the Secondary School Partnership and the transition to the new secondary school model.

Requirements:

  • A suitable teaching qualification
  • Inspirational teaching skills and the ability to motivate students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve at the highest levels.
  • An ability to demonstrate recent effective strategies to achieve high quality teaching and learning.
  • The ability to make effective use of current modern technologies to enhance teaching and learning
  • Understand how to use data effectively to monitor student progress and achievement.
